In Ireland, the Cycle to Work Scheme is a government tax incentive program which encourages employees to cycle to and from work. Employers can pay for bicycles and bicycle equipment for their employees, and the employee then pays back the value of the purchase (minus tax relief) through a salary sacrifice arrangement of up to 12 months. Most importantly, employees are not liable for tax, PRSI, levies or the Universal Social Charge on their repayments.
We wish to advise customers that certain bike shops have commenced adding an administration charge on top of their list price. In order to offer the best value available and save our customers money, we have identified a number of shops that may charge you extra fees. Please check our bike shops listing to see if your intended supplier may charge more than the list price. Ask the shop of your choice to confirm a full quotation price for Tax Free Bicycles before you place your order to ensure you get your Tax Relief on the full amount.
